Frequently Asked Questions

  • How Quickly do you Respond to Inquiries?

We respond to ALL inquiries as soon as possible.

We return all calls and emails. Depending on the volume of business we may be delayed at times but DO return them. Please follow up with a call if you need service sooner or if there is an EMERGENCY. With today's technology we track all calls and emails received and returned.

  • Can I call the Technician Directly?

    No.

At the time of service or at a different time, a technician may have called you from their personal phone. They will not return calls or listen to messages. DO NOT SAVE THESE NUMBERS.

  • Does SWAT Offer Emergency Service?

We handle pest emergencies as fast as we can during normal business hours however we do not offer after hours emergency service.

If inquiry involves a Chemical or Other Concern, please don’t hesitate to read our EMERGENCY page for more information or call 911 if it’s a true Medical Emergency.

  • How Long do Termite Treatments Last?

A liquid treatment is guaranteed for one year. We offer an annual renewal for 10 consecutive years. We prefer a liquid treatment for active indoor infestations to get a quick result. We do use the Isopthor Termite Bait System as a monitoring program. We recommend a baiting program for homes that have been treated by another company years ago or for peace-of-mind prevention of termites. More on Termites

  • Are the Treatments Safe around Pets & Family?

When mixed and applied properly, they are safe and have an extremely low toxicity to mammals. It’s only strong enough to kill insects. For good measure and a “feel good” policy we can suggest keeping all kids, pets, elders, and pregnant women away from the technicians during treatment. If you feel more comfortable, let the application dry before re-entering the area; approximately 20 minutes.

  • Should I be Worried about a Smell or Fumes?

Due to modern technology, most of our products are odorless. You may detect a slight odor depending upon which materials are needed for specific jobs.

Speak directly to your Technician if you have any concerns or if you have any particular sensitivities that we should be made aware of.

  • Do I Have to Leave When SWAT Arrives?

If we have to “fog” or “bomb” the structure, you will have to vacate for an hour or so and then ventilate upon your arrival. Length of vacancy time is determined by square footage, ventilation, and product application.

General Maintenance Treatments do not routinely fall into this category.

  • Does SWAT Guarantee their Treatments?

Yes. We provide a 30 day warranty on most one time treatments for short term relief. A maintenance program may be needed for permanent control.

  • Will All the Bugs be Dead When SWAT is Done?

Unfortunately, not immediately. We advise our customers of a 10 day grace period to let the chemicals do their magic. We can kill them, but not disintegrate them too. Also, most pests don’t die instantly. After an insect comes in contact with the pesticide, it absorbs the chemical into their system slowly. Give it time!

  • How Long Do The Chemicals Usually Last?

Depending on the formulation needed for control, most sprays last about 90 days before they break down to nothing. Heat, ultra-violet light and moisture eventually neutralize all products. This is why we encourage a Quarterly Service Maintenance Program.

  • How Will I Know When It's Time for my Next Appointment?

You will receive a phone call or email depending on your preferred contact method. We generally prefer to send you reminders via email. You can contact our office if you have any questions or if you think you missed one of your scheduled services.

  • What If I'm BUSY and COMPLETELY FORGET about SWAT?

If we try to reach you more than twice and you are more than 60 days past due, we may cancel your Account. You might be responsible for a Reinstatement Fee to get your property back to a Maintainable Standard. This is on a case-by-case basis; please refer to your Service Agreement.
